Kim began teaching in 1994 and spent many years as a teacher in Mt. Angel. In 2009 she joined the Scio School district as a fourth-grade teacher. In 2019, Kim was asked to take on the role of principal at Centennial Elementary. During the challenges of the COVID-19 era, Kimberlee navigated the district through uncertain times, demonstrating resilience, strategic thinking, and an unwavering focus on student achievement, staff well-being, and community engagement. Her expertise in grant writing has secured essential resources for schools, and her collaborative approach has strengthened partnerships with students, parents, staff, and external organizations. Today, she serves as the Interim Superintendent for the Scio School District, leading with vision, dedication, and a deep commitment to student success.
Outside of her professional life, Kimberlee enjoys reading, traveling with her family, and cheering on OSU sporting events. In Scio, she finds joy in kayaking the Crabtree and Thomas Creeks and jogging across the covered bridges. A passionate runner, she has set a personal goal of completing a half marathon in every state alongside her friends. Above all, Kimberlee loves any activity that allows her to spend time with family and friends, making lasting memories.
To Kimberlee, the Scio School District is more than just a workplace—it is home. Her deep roots and unwavering dedication uniquely position her to lead the district into the future, ensuring that every student receives the education and opportunities they deserve. Her mission is clear: to provide every child with the highest quality education while fostering a supportive and collaborative environment for education.
